Lions Mane Jellyfish
Lions Mane Jellyfish
The Lions Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world and it has been around for about 650 million years. The digestive system of the Lion Mane Jellyfish is very similar to other jellyfish. They absorb nutrients from a gastrointestinal lining which is located underneath the dome of the jellyfish. They catch prey by using their oral arms which have tentacles on them to transport food to and from the mouth. They have a simple digestive cavity called a coelenteron. This acts as the entire digestive system containing the gullet, stomach, intestine, mouth, and anus.
