King Baboon Tarantula
The King Baboon Tarantula has one of the most venomous bites that all spiders have. They eat crickets, large insects, and occasionally mice. The tarantula can not eat it its prey whole because they do not have teeth, so they predigest it with venom from their fangs. The poisonous venom contains a digestive enzyme that helps break down the prey. After the prey becomes more liquefied they will slowly ingest it. The food will move from the esophagus to the stomach. The tarantula stomach which is a tube that runs through the whole body has strong muscles which act as pump to suck up all the liquid. Once it passes through the stomach, it enters the intestines and they break it up into particles. These particles need to be small enough in order for it to pass through the intestine walls to the blood stream. The nutrients from the food then get spread throughout the body. The tarantula forms the waste into a ball then excretes it through the anus.
