The Digestive System in Humans
The Digestive System is a key system in almost all species. The main goal of the digestive system is to convert food into nutrients and energy for the body. The digestive system in humans is made up of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, rectum, and anus. These organs all contain a lining called mucosa. Mucosa is used to make juices that break down foods and help with digestion. Some other key organs that help with digestion are the liver and the pancreas. They both produce juices that will be used when needed to help with digestion. These juices that the liver and the pancreas produce are stored in the gallbladder.
